obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
Children suffering from OCD often describe looping thoughts, words, or phrases in their head that they cannot stop. They may also feel the need to do excessive rituals, such as wash their hands multiple times, check door locks, or keep things much neater and organized than is needed. Often, this overwhelming drive to maintain order or inability to calm looping thoughts leads to feelings of anxiety and stress. We regularly evaluate and treat OCD in children, and would be glad to discuss this with you.
